Ratcliffe College hosted a Sporting Dinner on Thursday 24th March 2016 in the School Refectory.
With over 110 guests made up of Parents, Old Ratcliffians and Friends, the black tie event was a resounding success. Guests were welcomed with a glass of fizz on arrival and were then seated in the School Refectory for a delicious four-course meal prepared by our own catering staff. Our MC for the evening was former Leicester Tigers star Matt Poole, who didn’t disappoint with his sporting banter, and interviewed our special guests Geordan Murphy (former Leicester Tigers and Ireland player, now a Tigers coach) and Matt Elliott (former Leicester City FC, club captain). He proceeded to run a most exhilerating auction including a signed LCFC shirt from this season which had been donated by Leicester City FC and which raised £1,500. In total, along with the raffle and the online auction, the event raised nearly £7,000. This money will go directly towards helping to provide better sporting facilities and opportunities for Ratcliffe students.
Our thanks go to our sponsor, Lumbers Jewellers, for their support, all of the parents and Old Ratcliffians who attended, bought raffle tickets or auction items and to those who kindly donated prizes to our auction, thank you all very much!
